- Sella Ronda: The World-Famous Circuit, and How to Ride It from Alba di Canazei — Four mountain passes, four valleys, about forty kilometers without ever taking off your skis. Which lift runs from Alba straight onto the circuit, which direction to start in, how long it takes, and by when you must clear the final pass.
- Ski or Snowboard: What Suits the Beginner — Skiing is easy at first and hard later; snowboarding is the opposite. What you injure on each, from what age, what happens on the drag lifts, and a verdict by age and type.
- The Lift Guide: How to Ride Every Type Without Embarrassment — Magic carpet, button lift, chairlift, gondola, large aerial tram and funifor: how each one works, how to get on and off, what shuts down first in the wind, and what you'll find right by the hotel.
- Ski Training in Four Weeks, No Gym Required — Eight at-home exercises, three times a week, that give you thighs that hold up for five days on the mountain. And why the injuries start after three thirty.
Questions about Learning & slopes
We're complete beginners. Is this suitable for us?
Yes. Most people who come to us for the first time have never stood on skis before. A lesson in the first two days is the difference between a fun week and a week of falls.
Are there ski lessons, and in what language?
Yes. The Canazei ski school teaches in English, Italian, German and Russian, in private and group lessons, and during Chanukah week we offer lessons in Hebrew. Groups start on Sunday or Monday and you can't join after the second day, so we close the lessons before departure. Let us know at registration who is taking lessons.
